To get started with Speak4, click the “new campaign” button on the homepage of the Speak4 app.
You’ll then be prompted to provide a title for your campaign and set a subject. The subject line must be set for connecting Facebook Lead Forms to this campaign. This serves as the email subject in the messages your advocates will send. You can customize this subject line later when setting up individual Landing Pages under the campaign.
Next, choose the campaign type. If you are creating a nationwide campaign, choose federal. If you would like to target a state legislature, choose state. Lastly, if you plan on using only custom email/fax recipients or a local campaign target, choose custom.
Federal campaigns are required to set a topic in order to ensure message deliverability. These topics are pre-set at the federal level and will display at the top of messages to lawmakers.
State campaigns will require you to select a state legislature.
Custom campaigns can target anyone with an email address or fax number, can leave comments on federal regulation documents, and allow advocate fields on landing pages and Facebook Lead Forms to be customized.
For federal and state campaigns, you will be prompted to select which Senators and Representatives will be the target of this campaign. All respective lawmakers will be targeted by default when these options are toggled on.
You may choose individual lawmakers to target, and federal campaigns can also select lawmakers by state.
Lastly, you can send messages to a custom recipient, such as a local elected official, as long as you have an email address for that recipient.
Please note that custom recipients will receive a message from every advocate that takes action, regardless of their location.
Targeting can only be set at the campaign level, not at the landing page. If you want to target a different set of lawmakers, you will need to create a new campaign.
Once you’ve created a campaign, you’ll then be prompted to set up a Landing Page for the campaign in order to start delivering messages to your targeted lawmakers.
